DOCBT – Dance One Contemporary Ballet Theatre

This pre-professional dance company explores a fusion of classical ballet and modern dance through various performance opportunities.  DOCBT has performed at the Kennedy Center, The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall.   This year DOCBT is honored to perform at Lincoln Center in January 2019.

We are proud to announce the new company members for 2018 – 2019

 

Angelina Bieber is an 9th grader at Exeter Twp. Jr. High School. She has been dancing for 11 years studying ballet, pointe, modern, tap & jazz.  In addition, she has had the honor of taking master classes in modern dance from Colin Connor, Artistic Director of Jose Limon Dance Company and Amy Marshall, Amy Marshall Dance Company in NYC. Angelina also enjoyed attending JUMP Tour-Philly convention in King of Prussia where she had the opportunity to dance in all styles taught by Doug Caldwell, Andrew Winghart, Katy Spreadbury, Mike Minery, Tina Caspary, Misha Gabriel, Morgan Larson & Wildabeast. Angie would like to continue dancing through college and turn her love of dancing into her career. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with friends and family, shopping and traveling.


 

Jaclyn Bihl is a 9th grader at Immaculate Conception Academy. She has been dancing for about 6 years having danced one year at another studio before coming to Dance One at 9 years old. Jackie has studied jazz, ballet, pointe, and modern.  This will be Jackie’s third year in DOCBT.  Jackie wants to continue dancing throughout college and hopes to be a professional dance teacher. In her spare time, Jackie likes to go shopping and hang out with her family and friends.

 

Brooke Burrows has been dancing with Dance One Studios for almost three years. She has taken Ballet, Modern, Pointe, and Tap. Brooke is in the 10th grade at Berks Catholic High School. In her spare time, she likes to draw and spend time with her friends. Brooke is excited for her second year in DOCBT.

 

Ally Capone has been dancing at Dance One Studios for 4 years. She’s an 11th grader at Daniel Boone. Ally has studied ballet, modern, hip hop, and acro. She hopes one day to perform with Cirque du Soleil. Ally likes volleyball, basketball, tumbling and teaching her little cousin Addie acro tricks.

 

Camryn Cooper started dancing at the age of 7 years old. She is currently a junior in high school. This is her eighth year dancing at Dance One. Camryn has studied ballet and modern. This is her second year in DOCBT and she is very excited to be a part of the experience. In the future, Camryn hopes to attend college and study computer engineering.

 

Erika Hochhaus is a passionate dancer and has been dancing since she was 3. She is currently in 9th grade. She’s been dancing ballet for 11 years, pointe for 4 years, and modern for 7 years. Outside of dance she plays the trumpet for her school band and is looking forward to being in marching band next year. After high school, she wants to attend a college and get a teaching degree; but, for now she is excited to have gotten into DOCBT and is looking forward to a wonderful future with Dance One Studios.

 

Brooke Myers is a sophomore at Springford High School. She has been dancing for thirteen years at Dance One Studios and has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern and Pointe. This is Brooke’s third year in both DOCBT and DO CREW.  Brooke has taken a Jazz workshop by Dr. Leslie Netting, and has performed at Disney World, Hershey Park, Artistry Unfolded, and Dance EXposure. Brooke is excited for the upcoming season performing with both companies. She plans to continue dancing through college. When she isn’t dancing, Brooke enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping and playing with her two dogs.

 

Hannah Newcomb is 12 years old and in the 7th grade in Exeter Township School District.  This is Hannah’s sixth year dancing and her second year at Dance One Studios.  She studies ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and pointe, with tap and pointe being her favorites.  Hannah has attended a master class with Dr. Leslie Netting and a modern master class instructed by Amy Marshall.    Hannah loves to be on stage performing and is very excited and proud to be a part of the DO TAP and DOCBT companies this year.   Outside of dance, Hannah loves to practice new nail, hair, and make-up techniques, hangout with friends and family, and watch YouTube.  Hannah hopes to be a professional dancer and make-up artist in the future.

Emily Weber is a junior at Pottstown High School. She has been dancing since the age of 3. Emily has many interests, however, studying dance tops her list. Over the years she has taken Ballet, Modern, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Her favorite is Ballet and she is looking forward to her second year of performances with DOCBT.
