DOCBT – Dance One Contemporary Ballet Theatre

This pre-professional dance company explores a fusion of classical ballet and modern dance through various performance opportunities.  DOCBT has performed at the Kennedy Center, The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall. We are proud to announce the new company members for 2019 – 2020

 

Emily Berkhammer started dancing at the age of four. She loves to dance and is currently studying Pointe, Ballet, Hip Hop and Modern at Dance One Studios. This is her first year dancing DOCBT. She danced for DOCBT III for two years. She has danced as a company member at Lincoln Center in NYC and Hershey Park. She enjoys being challenged, learning new moves, and variations with other company members. Emily is a freshman at Berks Catholic High School. She is a Berks Catholic Saints Ambassador, and an active member of the Diocese of Allentown’s Woman’s Society of Giving. When Emily is not at dance she is helping others in her community. Emily also enjoys volunteering as a Saint and as a helper at John Paul II Center for Special Learning. She is fun loving, light hearted and a good friend.

 

Jaclyn Bihl is a sophomore in high school and has been dancing for 6 years. She has studied Ballet, Pointe, Modern, and Jazz at Dance One Studios. This will be Jackie’s fourth year in DOCBT. She is looking forward to performing with DOCBT this year and hopes to continue dancing in the future.

 

Ally Capone has been dancing at Dance One Studios for 5 years. She’s an 12th grader at Radnor High School. Ally has studied ballet, modern, hip hop, and acro. She hopes one day to perform with Cirque du Soleil. Ally likes volleyball, basketball, tumbling and teaching her little cousin Addie acro tricks.

 

Camryn Cooper started dancing at the age of 7 years old. She is currently a senior in high school. This is her ninth year dancing at Dance One. Camryn has studied ballet and modern. This is her third year in DOCBT and she is very excited to be a part of the experience. In the future, Camryn hopes to attend college and study computer engineering.

 

Erika Hochhaus is 16 years old and currently a sophomore at Garden Spot High School. She has been dancing for 13 years and currently takes Jazz, Modern, Ballet, and Pointe. This year, Erika looks forward to dancing for a third year with DOCBT. In the future, Erika hopes to attend college and get a degree in Biochemistry.

 

Victoria Loomis has been dancing since she was two years old. She is currently in eighth grade in the Owen J. Roberts School District where she is a member of the Junior National Honor Society. This is her first year on DOCBT and she is excited to continue on her dance journey! She has enjoyed performing at Lincoln Center, Disney World, Kutztown University, Hershey Park and at senior centers. Her future goal is to be a professional dancer. In her free time she likes to have fun with her friends, choreograph dances and cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles

 

Holly Lucas is 13 years old and in 8th grade. She attends Owen J. Roberts Middle School where she is a member of the Varsity Singers and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Holly took her first dance class at the age of 3. Dance One Studios has been her dance home for the last 7 years. This is her 2nd year with DOCBT. Holly has studied ballet, tap, jazz, modern and hip hop but her real passion lies with ballet/pointe. You can always find her smiling, turning and singing! When Holly is not dancing she enjoys all things that allow her to be creative and imaginative – from crafting to cooking, loves listening to music, spending time with her sister and hanging out with her friends.

Brooke Myers is a junior at Springford High School. She has been dancing for fourteen years at Dance One Studios and has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern and Pointe. This is Brooke’s fourth year in both DOCBT. Brooke has taken a Jazz workshop by Dr. Leslie Netting, and has performed at Disney World, Hershey Park, Artistry Unfolded, and Dance EXposure. Brooke is excited for the upcoming season performing DOCBT. She plans to continue dancing through college. When she isn’t dancing, Brooke enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping and playing with her two dogs.

 

Hannah Newcomb is in 8th grade at Exeter Township Jr. High School.  She has been dancing for 7 years studying ballet, tap, pointe, jazz, modern, and hip-hop.  She has attended master classes with Dr Leslie Netting, Amy Marshall, Daniel Mayo, Steven Vaughan, Vanessa Sonon, and Camille Armstrong.  Hannah has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kutztown University, the SpringUp Dance Festival, and the Labyrinth Dance Company.  Hannah loves being on stage performing and is proud to be a part of both DO TAP and DOCBT for the third year.   When not dancing, Hannah enjoys trying new make-up and nail techniques, hanging with friends, and playing with her cats.  She hopes to be a make-up artist or professional dancer someday.

Emily Weber is a senior at Pottstown High School. She has been dancing since the age of 3. Emily has many interests, however, studying dance tops her list. Over the years she has taken Ballet, Modern, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, and Hip Hop. Her favorite is Ballet and she is looking forward to her second year of performances with DOCBT.
